  • Located in the northernmost portion of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, Catholic immigrants from Europe settled here in the 1830's to help build the Miami-Erie Canal and Grand Lake St. Mary's. Needing help reaching these Catholics; the Missionaries of The Precious Blood and the Sisters of the Precious Blood sent priests, brothers, and sisters from their religious orders in Europe over to Ohio and together they formed the majority of the current parishes in Mercer and Auglaize Counties. The heritage of these early settlers can still be seen in the beautiful churches and the devoted Catholics that live in this area today. Stained glass windows in many of the churches donated by early parishioners bear the names of many of the families sitting in the pews today!

  • We are farmers, engineers, teachers, and builders. We work in factories, hospitals, transportation, stores, and restaurants across the area. We are parents, grandparents, children, neighbors; and sometimes fierce rivals in local sports.
  • We are a vibrant Catholic faith community supporting each other as we strive to serve God and each other on His Earthly Kingdom!
